The Washington Nationals remain the top team in the TSN. Christian Okoye Jersey .ca MLB Power Rankings, ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals -- a surge from the National League. With a 19-9 record in the past 28 games, the Nationals are riding their strong starting pitching to a comfortable lead in the National League East. The Dodgers, getting healthier as a team and benefitting from big production out of Matt Kemp, have surged into second spot, their highest ranking of the season after ranking third in the preseason. The top-ranked team in the preseason, the Cardinals, have battled through their own share of injuries, but with Yadier Molina returning behind the plate and Michael Wacha back in the rotation, the Cardinals are up from 10 to three in the rankings. Staying in the National League Central, the Pittsburgh Pirates are up from 14 to nine with Gerrit Cole and Andrew McCutchen returning to the lineup and an 11-6 record in the past 17 games keeps the Pirates in a playoff spot. Heading the other way, the Oakland Athletics fall from two to five, and could fall further if not for the substantial good (statistical) will that they build up before their recent swoon, going 8-19 in the past 27 games. Could be worse, though. The Milwaukee Brewers have three wins in the past 18 games, which has knocked them out of playoff position and the Chicago White Sox, who are 10-23 in the past 33 games, slide from 20 to 23. The Toronto Blue Jays continue to hang around the middle, down from 15 to 16. Theyre competitive, but still sitting outside the playoff teams. SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Two substitutes, two goals. Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal can, it seems, do no wrong at this World Cup. He sent on replacements Leroy Fer and Memphis Depay in the second half of the match against Chile on Monday and they scored both goals in a 2-0 win that confirmed the Dutch as Group B winners with a maximum nine points. "It is luck," Van Gaal himself said about his super substitutions. "Just luck." But it was more than that. Fer, listed by FIFA as 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) tall, scored with a header a minute after coming on as a substitute for the 5-foot-6-inch (171 cm) Wesley Sneijder. "I know Leroy Fer is tall compared with our opponents. I know he can head the ball well," Van Gaal said. Then there was Depay. "We analyzed that Chile in the last 15 minutes gives away more room," Van Gaal said. "If you have a creative player in at that moment, you have the chance to use that space." Manchester United, which hired Van Gaal to restore its fortunes after a disastrous season by the clubs lofty standards, must be delighted even if it has to wait a bit longer for him to join them after the World Cup. Chile, one of the most attacking and attractive teams at the World Cup, had no answer at the Itaquerao Stadium, especially not without midfielder Arturo Vidal who watched from the bench. "I played the best team I had," said Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli. Juventus star Vidal had knee surgery before the tournament and had a sore Achilles tendon but said a day before the match he felt fit and ready to play. Both teams had already advanced to the second round, but Chiles first loss of the tournament consigned it to second place in Group B and a meeting with host Brazil in Belo Horizonte. The Dutch next travel to Fortaleza to play Group A runner-up Mexico in the round of 16 on June 29. Chile began with its trademark fast, attacking style while the Dutch, with a five-man defence, looked content to sit back, absorb the pressure and break out with swift counterattacks. "We gave nothing away and fought like lions," stannd-in captain Robben said. Custom Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys. "Orange lions." The match marked the first time at this World Cup the Netherlands had played in its national colour, but the change of jerseys didnt change its fortunes. Vidals absence deprived Chile of midfield creativity and it struggled to break down the well-drilled Dutch defence. Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez tried to fill the gap left by Vidal, but couldnt find a way through. He came closest to scoring in the second half with a powerful shot that Jasper Cillessen easily blocked at his near post. "Im very proud of this team," Robben said. "If you see how we fought here today. We were right on top of them and gave them no chances." The Netherlands was playing without suspended captain and striker Robin van Persie and was also missing defender Bruno Martins Indi, who suffered a concussion in the teams last match, a tough 3-2 victory over Australia in Porto Alegre. No problem for inspirational coach Van Gaal, who pulled a tactical surprise with his starting lineup -- reverting to the 5-3-2 formation he began with against Spain and posting veteran forward Dirk Kuyt, in his 99th international, at left back. "I enjoyed it," Kuyt said. "I never played in this position but the coach told me a couple of weeks ago that it could be a possibility during the tournament and I told him that I would be ready for it and I was very happy I get the chance. I think it went very well and hopefully I will get another chance." Then came Van Gaals substitutions. Fer headed in powerfully and Depay doubled his World Cup tally in stoppage time. Robben delayed his cross from the left cleverly until the PSV Eindhoven striker arrived at the far post -- also delaying his run by a split second to shrug off his marker -- to tap in an inch-perfect pass. "He is a huge talent and great for the future of Dutch football," Fer said of Depay. Robben said that after three wins out of three, the Dutch squad is hungry for more. "We can enjoy this fantastic performance, but it must not stop here," he said. Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From ChinaJerseys NFL China Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China ' ' '

Pominville, a former Sabres captain, scored the winning goal in the Minnesota Wilds 2-1 victory over the winless Sabres on Monday night. "It tops off a pretty emotional day in a great way," said Pominville, who played his first game in Buffalo since he was traded to Minnesota last April for centre Johan Larsson, Rochester goalie Matt Hackett, a first-round pick that was used on defenceman Nikita Zadorov and a second-round selection. "So many good memories in this building. Its nice to get another one." Pominville scored on the power play with 9.7 seconds left in the second period to give Minnesota a 2-1 lead. Mikko Koivu and Jared Spurgeon assisted on the goal. Kyle Brodziak also scored for Minnesota (3-1-2). Josh Harding made 22 saves. Buffalo (0-6-1) tied a franchise record for its longest winless streak to start a season. The Sabres were 0-5-2 in 1999 and 0-4-3 in 1990. The Sabres came into the game allowing an average of 37 shots on goal, but held Minnesota to just 16. Buffalo failed to take advantage, however, and went 0-4 on the power play. "There were many moments in the game where I dont feel that our execution was at its best, but the bottom line is we did enough good things to win this hockey game," Minnesota coach Mike Yeo said. "I thought special teams was critical." Brian Flynn lifted Buffalo into a 1-1 tie with 4:56 to go in the second period, scoring his first of the season off an assist from Zemgus Girgensons. The Sabres are a young team that is having trouble scoring. They have just seven goals through seven games, another franchise record for futility. "Youre not going to win many games scoring one goal," Sabres coach Ron Rolston said. "We need our top six too step up. Joe Thomas Jersey. " Pominville empathized with his former teammates. "Its tough for the group of guys that have been here a while," he said. "The team is going through a little bit of a rebuild, trusting a lot of younger players. Its going to be a process for them. "I definitely feel for the guys that have been here a long time. They are competitors, they want to win, and right now its not going their way. But Im sure theyll stick with it and find a way to turn it around." Pominville, who spent 12 years in the Sabres organization, ranks 12th on the teams career list in goals (185) and points (456). He received a warm ovation from the fans when his name was announced in the starting lineup. He then drew boos after he scored the go-ahead goal. "Weve very happy for him," Yeo said. "Hes a guy that brings so much to our team, so much to our locker room. Hes a guy that you just want to go out and help him." Brodziak gave the Wild an early lead with his first of the season, scoring from the right circle on a delayed penalty five minutes in. Matt Cooke and Jonas Brodin assisted on the goal, Brodziaks first of the season. Jonas Enroth started in place of No. 1 Sabres goalie Ryan Miller and made 18 saves. "Its going to be hard to win with only one goal scorer," Enroth said. "At the same time, I think we played pretty well. We were in charge pretty much the whole game. So its a good sign, I think." NOTES: Buffalo D Henrik Tallinder returned to the lineup after missing four games with an upper body injury. The Sabres sent Alexander Sulzer to Rochester of the AHL to make room on the roster. . Minnesota D Nate Prosser was a healthy scratch for the sixth straight game. . Pominville has now scored against all 30 NHL teams. . VIENNA, Austria -- Canadas Vasek Pospisil saved two set points before beating former No. Gerard Pique Jersey . 1 Lleyton Hewitt 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the first round of the Erste Bank Open on Tuesday. Pospisil trailed the now 53rd-ranked Australian 6-4 in the tiebreaker before reeling off four straight points to take the opening set. An early break in the second proved enough for the seventh-seeded Canadian. "Its very special for me to beat a former No. 1," said the 23-year-old Pospisil, who won just two games in his only previous match against Hewitt in Newport last year. "Ive come a long way since. I started working with another coach and Ive put in a lot of hard work." The native of Vernon, B.C., next plays Robin Haase. The Dutchman, who won both of his career titles in Austria, rallied to beat Ilija Bozoljac of Serbia 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. After winning the demanding opening set in 52 minutes, Pospisil broke Hewitts serve to start the second set and held the margin out to his 14th victory of his breakthrough season. He finished the match with 12 aces. "It was a tough match and conditions were a lot different than theyve been the last few weeks in Asia," said Pospisil, whose goal for the season is a top 32 finish and seeding at the Australian Open in January. "I had to make some adjustments but I did. Im very excited with my performance today. its great to have such a win over a player like Hewitt. Its still very special to beat him, there are not many players like him. I think my hard work this season is really paying off as we get near the end." Pospisil said that after winning the opening tiebreaker, he was able to consolidate his success with the early break in the second set. "I got lucky on the deuce points, hitting a frame lob. But I had momentum, from the tiebreak and I wanted to continue that. "Hewitt had some chances but after I got the break it was relatively comfortable to serve my way though the match." Pospisil is joined in the Vienna field by Torontos Daniel Nestor, playing as the doubles third seed as he teams with Austrian Julian Knowle this week. Knowle is the regular partner of Jurgen Melzer, who had to withdraw from his home event as his season ended early with a shoulder injury. In other results, the son of 1988 Olympic champion Miloslav Mecir stunned Pablo Andujar of Spain 6-4, 6-4 in his first ever main draw match. The 25-year-old Miloslav Mecir Jr. of Slovakia, who is ranked 240th and came through three qualifying rounds, served nine aces and never faced a break point. Earlier, Daniel Brands of Germany beat Andreas Haider-Maurer 6-4, 7-6 (5) despite the Austrian serving 16 aces. The 57th-ranked Brands managed one break in the opening set against the 2010 finalist and held serve throughout to set up a second-round match against top-seeded former champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Dominic Thiem, playing in only his second ATP event this year, defeated Daniel Gimeno-Traver of Spain 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. The 20-year-old Austrian reached the second round for a third straight year and will play either sixth-seeded Gael Monfils or Marinko Matosevic of Australia. Also, Michael Russell of the United States failed to convert any of his 13 break points in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to qualifier Mirza Basic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium had 10 aces while beating Jan Hajek of Czech Republic 6-2, 6-0. Javier Mascherano Jersey . Goetze scored twice and created another for Thomas Mueller, with Bayern substitute Claudio Pizarro cancelling out Hakan Calhanoglus consolation. Bayern defender Jerome Boateng was sent off late for hitting out at Hamburg midfielder Kerem Demirbay. Eintracht Braunschweig conceded in injury time to lose 1-0 to Augsburg, and Nuremberg lost 2-0 to Hannover, meaning two points separate three relegation rivals going into the final round next weekend. "I can understand the fans disappointment," Nuremberg goalkeeper Raphael Schaefer said after his 250th league appearance for the club. Stuttgart was no longer in danger of the drop, despite losing 2-1 at home to Wolfsburg, with Vieirinha scoring the winner in injury time. "Wed rather have done it by ourselves but the important thing is that we keep playing in the Bundesliga," Stuttgart president Bernd Wahler said. Bayer Leverkusen consolidated fourth place with a 2-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt. Gonzalo Castro and Emre Cans first-half goals put Leverkusen in pole position for the last Champions League qualification spot. "The goal was special," said Can, who grew up in Frankfurt. "For the Champions League we still need a win against (Werder) Bremen." Borussia Dortmund defeated Hoffenheim 3-2, third-place Schalke won 2-0 at Freiburg, Borussia Moenchengladbach beat Mainz 3-1, and Bremen captain Aaron Hunt marked his last home game for the side by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin. "I couldnt have wished for better," Hunt said. Gladbach keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was unable to hold back the tears as he was thanked for his service to the club he joined as a four-year-old. The 22-year-old is expected to move to Barcelona. Bayern wwas hoping to make amends for its humiliating Champions League semifinal loss to Real Madrid, and Goetze made his case for a starting place against Dortmund in the German Cup final in two weeks. Nelson Semedo Jersey. Franck Ribery did not travel to Hamburg due to back problems. Mueller started up front rather than Mario Mandzukic, and Goetze took Riberys place on the left. Goetze played a one-two with Arjen Robben to open the scoring in the 32nd minute. Bayern went 2-0 up after a corner in the 55th, when Goetzes shot took a slight deflection from Mueller. The goal was awarded to the Bayern winger. Mueller returned the favour by crossing for Goetzes second with 20 minutes remaining, two minutes before Hakan Calhanoglu pulled one back. In the 75th, Pizarro scored with an overhead kick two minutes after he went on as a substitute. Hamburg is battling to avoid its first ever relegation after playing every season of the Bundesliga since the leagues formation in 1963. "The second goal was the turning point," Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka said. "Still, there were a lot of positive things to see. You can see the sheer will is there." There was some trouble among frustrated fans in the stands at halftime when police were forced to intervene. Braunschweig might have overtaken Hamburg but Augsburg keeper Marwin Hitz denied substitute Salim Khelifi in the 89th minute and Raul Bobadilla scored with a lob four minutes into injury time. Nuremberg got off to a bad start when Hannover midfielder Szabolcs Huszti scored in the fifth, and Manuel Schmiedebach made it 2-0 in the 51st. It was the 10th loss from 11 games for Nuremberg, which has been relegated seven times from the Bundesliga. There were no such worries for Dortmund, already assured of second place before beating Hoffenheim. Dortmund fans gave a warm send-off to Robert Lewandowski, who is joining Bayern next season, and Manuel Friedrich, who is retiring.Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China ' ' '
A potent offence is one reason why the Toronto Raptors own the best record in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta Falcons Jerseys . With a second straight meeting against a fellow division leader looming, the Raptors will try to bounce back from their worst offensive showing of the season Monday night against the Denver Nuggets.Their last game, though, didnt do anything to reinforce that belief. Toronto (15-5) has only averaged 100 points or more in four of its first 19 seasons, but its in very good shape to push that number to five. The Raptors rank second in the NBA, averaging 108.8 points per game, 4.7 higher than the franchise record set in 2009-10. You can catch all the action live on TSN2 at 7PM et / 4PM pt. They werent anywhere near that impressive Friday, shooting 40.7 percent from the field in a 105-91 loss to Central Division-leading Cleveland in their lowest scoring effort of the season. We were just missing shots, guard Kyle Lowry told the teams official website after scoring 22 points while making 7 of 18 from the field. I dont think theres anything we couldve done differently. (Greivis Vasquez) had a rough night, I had a rough night. The only ones who shot over 50 per cent I think were (James Johnson) and Amir (Johnson). Facing the Nuggets could help the Raptors get their offense back on track since Denver is one of the leagues worst defensive teams, allowing an average of 105.5 points.Toronto will get a chance to avenge that defeat to the Cavaliers on Tuesday, but will first try to avoid overlooking Denver (9-11). Toronto, though, has dropped three of five games, splitting four without DeMar DeRozan, who is out with a torn left abductor. The guard is second on the team with 19.4 points per game, trailing only Lowry (20.7). Lowry is scoring 28.4 over the past five games, but hes been held to 16.3 while making 35.7 percent from the field in the last four meetings with Denver. The Raptors split last seasons two meetings with the Nuggets, with the road team winning both. Denver has won seven of 10 at Toronto, but enters this one on a three-game slide following a 7-1 stretch. The Nuggets opened this three-game trip with a 119-89 defeat at Washington on Friday, and followed it up by falling 96-84 at Atlanta two days later. Theyre shooting a woeful 37.1 percent from the floor, including 11 for 57 from 3-point range over the past two games. However, a slew of injuries arent helping. Denver was without Kenneth Faried (back), Nate Robinson (back) and JaVale McGee (leg) on Sunday, leading to a season low point total. Were down 10 guys, coach Brian Shaw said. Guys have an opportunity to play, so they have to take advantage of those minutes. Guys have to step up. The most likely to return is Faried, who is averaging 13.4 points and 9.2 rebounds in five career meetings with Toronto. Ty Lawson has 22.0 points per game over his last five matchups with the Raptors, but Denver only needed 16 from him in a 112-98 road win Dec. 1, 2013. Darren ODay (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief to get the win. Zach Britton pitched out of trouble in the 10th, to record his third save in three opportunities. The Brewers has a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. Jonathan Lucroy singled with one out. Carlos Gomez bunted and the throw from Hundley sailed into right field, allowing Lucroy to advance to third while Gomez ended up at second. With Elian Herrera pinch running for Lucroy, Mark Reynolds hit a soft line drive to short and Herrera broke for home, leading to an easy double play. Khris Davis and Lyle Overbay hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth. Schoops first homer came in the seventh and made it 6-4. He came into the game with just three homers on the season. Brewers starter Kyle Lohse gave up four runs on nine hits over 6 2-3 innings. He struck out five and didnt issue a walk. It marked the fourth time this season that a blown save cost Lohse a win. A day after being called up from AHL Hamilton, Tokarski made 29 saves to earn his first career shutout in a 2-0 win over the injury-depleted Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night. "It felt pretty good. Im not going to lie," Tokarski said. "The main thing is the two points going down the stretch here for this hockey team, and just a little icing on the cake with the shutout, I guess." The shutout was certainly timely for a Canadiens team coming off an emotional high following a 5-4 overtime win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. It was a game in which Montreal became the NHLs first team to win by overcoming a three-goal deficit with less than five minutes remaining. "Every time you play an emotional game, as a coach youre always afraid that the next game could be tougher," coach Michel Therrien said. "But we got a really good start, and this is something weve been doing lately." Brendan Gallagher and Dale Weise scored 1:26 apart in the first period, both coming off pucks that caromed into the net. Weise opened the scoring when a rebound banked in off his skate. Gallaghers goal came on a rebound that caromed in off the leg of Sabres defenceman Chad Ruhwedel. Montreal (37-25-7) vaulted into second place in the Atlantic Division by jumping ahead of Toronto and Tampa Bay. The league-worst Sabres (19-41-8) continue heading in reverse, having lost six straight in regulation -- their worst streak since losing seven in a row from Dec. 4-19, 2003. And theyve lost another goalie to injury after starter Jhonas Enroth did not return following a collision with Gallagher with 3:51 left in the second period. Referring to it as a lower-body injury, coach Ted Nolan said Enroth could be out indefinitely. "It doesnt look like its going to be short-term," Nolan said. "It seems like we have bad luck, or we have no luck at all." Gallagher was driving to the net from the left circle and got a shot off when he was struck from behind by Buffalo defenceman Jamie McBain and tumbled directly into Enroth. The goalie lay on thhe ice for a few minutes before he got up and attempted to stretch his right leg while being examined by a trainer. Reggie Nelson Jersey. Enroth then skated to the bench and was escorted into the locker room. Rookie Nathan Lieuwen was forced into action, and stopped all 10 shots he faced in his NHL debut. Lieuwen was called up from AHL Rochester earlier in the day after backup Michal Neuvirth complained of a lower body injury before Buffalos 4-1 loss at the New York Islanders on Saturday. That leaves the Sabres in a position of calling up Matt Hackett from Rochester before embarking on a five-game road trip that opens at Calgary on Tuesday. Lieuwen was playing on his third consecutive day after stopping 31 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss to Binghamton on Friday, and another 38 in a 2-1 loss to Binghamton on Saturday. "It was all adrenaline," Lieuwen said. "How I played the two nights before really did help. As soon as the faceoff started, it was like I was in a game again, and I could focus in." His best save came with 10:25 left, when he lunged from his crease and got his blocker up to turn aside former Sabres player Thomas Vaneks one-timer from the slot. Tokarski started in place of Carey Price, who didnt travel with the team. Therrien was wary of playing Price on consecutive nights after the goalie aggravated a lower-body injury during Canadas gold-medal run at the Sochi Games. Tokarski was sharp in the opening frame, when he turned aside Drew Staffords backhander in front. He was also fortunate with 12:47 left in the third period, when Stafford had a shot go off the right post. The Sabres continue to struggle generating offence. Theyve managed a league-worst 132 this season, and have scored just five in their past six games. NOTES: Vanek played his first game at Buffalo since the Sabres traded him to the New York Islanders in October. The Canadiens acquired Vanek in a deal with the Isles two weeks ago. Vanek drew a standing ovation during a first-period break, after the Sabres broadcast a series of highlights on their videoboard. ... Cammalleri, 32, has been a productive goal-scorer, topping 20 goals six times in his career, but hes also had a hard time staying healthy, missing at least 15 games in four of the past five seasons. However, if a team understands that injuries are likely to be part of the package, they can also understand that a healthy Cammalleri has not only has he been able to score, but last season he was really effective as an all-around player, putting up strong relative possession numbers despite facing high-quality opposition and starting more of his shifts in the defensive zone. Those relative possession stats were dramatically better than previous seasons, so that doesnt necessarily mean thats his standard level, but its some evidence that Cammalleri is more than just a triggerman. Hes joining a Devils team that already puts up strong possession numbers, but has been unable to finish enough. For whatever it might be worth, Cammalleri is also 7-for-20 (35.0%) in shootouts over the past five years, and while thats a little above average, its miles ahead of what the Devils mustered as a team last year, when they were 4-for-51 (7.8%) in losing all 13 shootout decisions. While Cammalleri plays frequently on tthe wing, hes also played centre -- took the second-most draws on the Flames in 2012-2013 -- and that could be useful for the Devils, who are going to have to mix and match some pieces up front, but have enough to put together three pretty solid lines. Custom New Orleans Pelicans Jerseys. Adding a goal-scorer certainly addresses the Devils needs. They ranked 27th in the league with 2.40 goals per game last season, so adding a proven finisher is worthwhile. The trouble, as it often seems to be with the Devils, is that the term is steep for a 32-year-old. Maybe five years and $25-million is the going rate for what Cammalleri provides, but its hard to envision the Devils getting a positive return on investment when Cammalleri is 35 and 36-years-old. Sure, New Jersey has been getting great production from Jaromir Jagr and Patrik Elias, who are well beyond that age but, among 32 forwards who were at least 35-years-old last season, five managed to score more than 20 goals. The Flames will miss Cammalleri. They added Mason Raymond as a free agent, and Raymonds speed is an asset, but hes not the same kind of offensive threat that Cammalleri is, so its hard to expect that the Flames will thrive offensively without their third-leading scorer from last season. BELFAST -- Marcel Kittel sprinted to victory in a wet second stage of the Giro dItalia on Saturday as Michael Matthews took the overall leaders pink jersey from Orica-GreenEdge teammate Svein Tuft of Langley, B. Aaron Dell Jersey .C. Kittel timed his move to perfection, with 200 metres remaining, to edge out Nacer Bouhanni and Giacomo Nizzolo in a bunch sprint at the end of the 218-kilometre (135-mile) leg, which started and ended in Belfast. The German cyclist clocked more than five hours to claim his first Giro stage win on the day before his 26th birthday. "Honestly, it was not so easy today to stay in front with the team, I lost them a few times," Kittel said. "It was a very hard day with all the rain, and the boys did an amazing job. "The weather was very Irish I guess, and youre cold if you ride five hours in the rain. "I was really overwhelmed by all the people on the roads, it was really a big party despite the weather. Im super happy and proud about this win, its really something to have a win in each of the three Grand Tours." Matthews finished three seconds ahead of his Orica teammates and was hoping to still be wearing the maglia rosa when the Giro moves into Italy. "I didnt expect it, its truly an honour to be wearing this jersey," Matthews said. "We had a great team time trial yesterday and we decided to give it to Svein for his birthday. To take it today is truly something amazing. "Ill try to keep it as long as I can, hopefully until at least stage six or seven. Theres a few guys who are close to me. Its truly a massive thing for the team and for me as well." Despite the heavy rain, thousands of people lined the route which took in picturesque rock formation, the Giants Causeway, as it wound down the coast. Two Garmin-Sharp cyclists withdrew from the race following a crash in Fridays opening team time trial. Dan Martin will have surgery later Saturday on a broken collarbone. Teammate Koldo Fernandez finished the stage, but tests afterward revealed he had also broken his clavicle. There was an early breakaway of four riders. Jeffry Romero, Maarten Tjallingii, Sander Armee and Andrea Fedi swiftly built a lead of more than six minutes on the peloton, which was led by time trial winner Orica. Tjallingii had a superb stage. Not only did the Dutch cyclist lead for most of the day, but he also powered up both category four climbs to claim the blue King of the Mountains jersey. With the peloton quickly catching the four escapees, Tjallingii made a solo break with eight kilometres to go and briefly looked like holding on until he was caught with little more than three kilometres remaining. Sundays third stage is a 187-kilometre cross-border leg from Armagh to Dublin. Monday is a rest day before the race resumes in southern Italy with a stage ending in Bari. The Goldeyes (24-14) capped their 10-game road trip with a 6-1 win over the Trois-Rivieres Aigles at Stade Fernand-Bedard. The victory guarantees Winnipeg will return home in first place in the American Associations tight North Division. The Goldeyes have a one-and-a-half game lead on the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and a two-and-a-half advantage over St. Paul Saints, pending the outcome of the game between those two teams tonight. In the final game of the road trip, the Goldeyes slowly built a lead by scoring single runs in six innings, including five of the last six innings. "We were able to get runs in six different innings, so they swung the bats pretty well," Goldeyes pitching coach Jamie Vermilyea said on the Jewel 101 post-game show. "Its nice to hit and pitch at the same time." Brock Bond drove in Winnipegs first two runs of the game in the second and fourth innings. He finished the game two-for-three  at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. "Every single oone of his at-bats hes working the count, working deep in the count and trying to get his pitch," Vermilyea said. Justin Braun Jersey. Casey Haerther and Reggie Abercrombie also registered two hits for Winnipeg. On the mound, Ethan Hollingsworth made his second start of the season for the Goldeyes and pitched six scoreless innings for his first win of the season. He gave up just three hits, struck out two and walked four. His ERA is now 1.59 in two starts. "He had all of his pitches working," Vermilyea said. "He used his change-up a lot more tonight, keeping guys off balance and throwing strikes, for the most part." Taylor Sewitt, Taylor Bratton, Kyle Bellamy, Brendan Lafferty and Kaohi Downing all saw action out of the bullpen in the games final three innings. Sewitt was tagged in the seventh inning for Trois-Rivieres only run in the game. Aigles starter Ryan Bollinger took the loss. The Goldeyes will return home Friday to begin a seven-game homestand against the RedHawks, who are making their first visit to Shaw Park this season for a four-game series. MEXICO CITY -- Mauricio Sulaiman has been elected president of the World Boxing Council, replacing his father who died last month. J.J. Hardy Jersey . Sulaiman, 44, was chosen unanimously Tuesday in a vote by the leadership, the World Boxing Council said. Sulaiman becomes the sixth president of the organization. Jose Sulaiman, who died last month at 82, was the long-time head of the WBC. He managed to institute new rules and regulations regarding boxers safety and welfare and was considered a friend of his fighters. In a statement, Sulaiman said: "The World Boxing Council will not be the same because Jose Sulaiman is gone, but the WBC has its core and we want to work to follow in the footsteps of my father."Brooks Robinson Jersey . -- Howie Kendrick had a two-run single in his first game batting leadoff this season, Chris Iannetta hit a pair of RBI singles and the Los Angeles Angels beat Cleveland 6-4 Tuesday night, sending the Indians to their fifth straight defeat. Baltimore Orioles Jerseys . They started shooting the puck. Joe Pavelski had a hat trick to move into a tie for second in the NHL in goals and the Sharks beat Philadelphia 7-3 Thursday night in the first game for both teams following the Olympic break. Raffi Torres and Logan Couture each scored twice in their return to San Joses lineup following injuries. The Sharks trailed 2-1 after getting outshot 10-4 in the first period. San Jose made a pointed effort to shoot the puck in the second period and it paid off in a big way, resulting in five second-period goals on 16 shots. "We started to finally shoot the puck," Couture said. "The first period we werent shooting. We were playing in their end, but we werent shooting. Thats more the way we play, the way we need to play. A lot of our goals were off rebounds, and thats the way you score in this league." Pavelski, one of the Sharks four Olympians, scored all three of his goals in the dominating second period. Torres, who was making his 2013-14 debut after injuring his knee in the preseason, capped the second-period spree with his second goal of the game with 2.2 seconds left. Couture, who missed the previous 16 games due to hand surgery, netted his 15th goal of the season in the period. "We didnt have a lot of purpose in our game in the first period, especially in their zone," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. "Kind of skating around waiting for something to happen. We got our forecheck going in the second (and) a lot more pucks to the goaltender, which created second and third chances. We had to start thinking about throwing the puck from bad angles and creating second (chances) that way." Andrej Meszaros had a highlight-reel tally and Matt Read and Brayden Schenn also scored for the Flyers, who had won four straight before the Olympic break. Flyers coach Craig Berube wasnt pleased with his teams effort, particularly the play in front of their own goal. "Not competing around our net, thats basically what it boils down to," Berube said. "Not getting sticks, not boxing people out, not being hard on people. We didnt compete hard enough to win the hockey game. Nobody. "Were all embarrassed tonight." The Flyers netted a pair of goals within a 22-second span midway through the first period to take a 2-1 lead. Meszaros, one of five Flyers who participated in the Olympics, opened the Philadelphia scoring with 9:24 remaining in the opening period. Alex Stalock, San Joses backup goalie who started in place of Olympian Antti Niemi, saved Meszaros initial shot from the point, but Steve Downie pushed the rebound to Meszaros, who shot the puck between his own legs and past Stalock from close range. Schenn put Philadelphia ahead 2-1 when he backhanded the puck from behind the net off the skate of Jason Demers and past Stalock with 9:02 remaining in the first period. Mark Trumbo Jersey. But it was all San Jose in the second period. Pavelski scored from close range on the power play 4:23 into the period and then gave San Jose the lead for good with 9:48 remaining in the period when he deflected Marc-Edouard Vlasics shot from the point past Steve Mason that made it 3-2. Mason was lifted 35 seconds later when Couture tallied on a rebound after the Flyers goalie dropped a shot that he initially gloved. Mason gave up four goals on his first 13 shots. His replacement, Ray Emery, didnt fare much better, as Pavelski scored on a turnaround from in front of the crease with 5:50 left in the period for his 32nd goal of the season, tying him with Torontos Phil Kessel for second-most in the league. Torres finished the second-period scoring by just beating the intermission buzzer with a close-range goal. "We had some good luck throughout the team," Pavelski said. "They were just going in tonight. Life is good. Hopefully they keep coming." The sellout crowd loudly booed the Flyers as they exited the ice following the period. "We lost a lot of battles the last two-thirds of the game," Philadelphias Scott Hartnell said. "Simple penalties, turnovers that led to odd-man rushes and we were soft in front of our net. Thats what you get when you dont play tough, you dont play strong and you dont play good defence. It couldve been 10-3." It didnt get any better in the third period for Philadelphia as Couture netted a short-handed goal 4:50 in on a backhander in front of Emery. In a rare move, Emery was lifted and Mason was re-inserted into the game with 9:11 left in the third period. Emery requested to be removed from the game due to an undisclosed injury that neither he nor Berube would identify. Besides Meszaros, Flyers Michael Raffi, Jakub Voracek, Kimmo Timonen and Mark Streit also participated in the Olympics. Timonen, who helped Finland to the bronze medal, was a healthy scratch to allow him to rest. In addition to Niemi and Pavelski, San Joses Patrick Marleau and Vlasic competed in Sochi. Niemi, who entered second in the NHL in wins (29), didnt see any action Thursday. Demers, Andrew Desjardins and Marleau each had a pair of assists for the Sharks. NOTES: Before the Olympics, Niemi was 7-3 with a 2.12 GAA in his previous 10 starts. However, one of those losses was a 5-2 home defeat to the Flyers on Feb. 3, a game in which he gave up four goals before being pulled. ... San Jose won its sixth straight game in Philadelphia. The Flyers last home win over the Sharks came on Dec. 21, 2000. ... San Jose came within two of its season-high for goals, set in a 9-2 win over the Rangers on Oct. 8. ... The seven goals allowed matched a season-worst for Philadelphia, which lost 7-0 to Washington on Nov. 1 and 7-2 at Chicago on Dec. 11. Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From ChinaJerseys NFL China Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China ' ' '
CHESTER, Pa. Corey Moore Jersey . -- Even with a brand new coaching staff in place, the result was more of the same. Ten-man Toronto FC slumped to a 1-0 defeat in Philadelphia on Wednesday night, the clubs first game since the firing of manager Ryan Nelsen and most of his coaching staff. Greg Vanneys first challenge in charge of TFC was a home and home series against the Union, with the teams playing two games against each other in just four days. Toronto started slowly at PPL Park on Wednesday and couldnt overcome a second half red card, but the new manager was pleased with his teams improvement and effort as the game went on. "We got ourselves into good positions," Vanney told reporters post-game. "Was it the overall performance we were looking for? Not exactly. But we worked. The guys worked their socks off the entire match. Even a man down they created some problems. Credit to the guys for that. Weve got to turn around in the next four days and sort out a few details, but I think there are some things to learn from this match and hopefully we can improve in the next one." Vanney made two changes to the side that lost 3-0 at home to New England last week. Ashtone Morgan was preferred at left back, with Mark Bloom moving to the right side of defence and Nick Hagglund pairing centrally with Doneil Henry. Gilberto was dropped for Daniel Lovitz, who started wide and pushed Dominic Oduro from the midfield into a more advanced role. The team is now 9-10-6 on the season, tied with Columbus and Philadelphia on 33 points. "This is a good group, a group that comes every day ready to challenge each other and push each other," said midfielder Michael Bradley. "Each guy is ready to give everything for the sake of the group. When you go through a difficult time, its normal that there are conversations, and guys are challenging each other, and that questions are being asked amongst ourselves. In a big game tonight, I still thought the effort, the commitment, the energy, and all of these things were there. They made one more play than we did, and, unfortunately, thats football sometimes." Goalkeeper Joe Bendik was called into action early on, denying a Conor Casey effort that looked bound for the bottom corner. Toronto had failed to deal with a Cristian Maidana set piece, and the ball squirted free for a right-footed effort from the penalty marker. Torontos best chance of the first half came in the 34th minute, when Maurice Edu was whistled for a handball just outside the box, positioned dead centre in front of the goal. Bradley took the free kick for TFC, but blasted his shot into the Union wall, and Philadelphia cleared. It was a 0-0 game at the half, and Vanney brought in Gilberto for Jonathan Osorio, after it appeared that the midfielder had picked up a bit of an injury and hobbled into the tunnel. Bendik was again up to the task in the second half, denying the Union on a well-taken corner kick. Amobi Okugo rose to attack Maidanas service, and the netminder got a big right hand to the headed effort, keeping the home side off the board. But he couldnt keep the Union out in the 55th minute. Collecting the ball wide right, the lively Maidana sprung Sebastien Le Toux brilliantly into open space. Pushing into the penalty area, the French striker hit a perfect cross for Casey to hammer home from point blank range. MacMath then stoned Gilberto on a solid try from 16 yards out on the other end. Morgan was sent off in the 76th minute, after he pulled down Le Toux during a Union breakaway. Hagglund had turned the ball over in the Union half, forcing Morgan to chase from behind. The left back was shown a straight red card for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity. "Its a tough one to take for us," midfielder Collen Warner added. "We wanted to at least get a point coming in here, obviously. It seems like were in a bit of a slump, but its not something that isnt necessarily expected. Its a long season and were facing a lot of injuries at the moment. The guys gave everything tonight, and thats what I take away from it. Were still fighting through this and things will turn. Its the way it works and were just waiting to catch our break, then well be off." Toronto now takes a four-game winless streak back to BMO Field for Saturdays return match. Bruce Ellington Jersey . Napoli beat high-flying Hellas Verona 3-0 to keep up the pressure on the top two while AC Milan had another disappointing night as four goals from teenage forward Domenico Berardi saw relegation-threatened Sassuolo come back from two goals down to win 4-3. Deshaun Watson Jersey . Both sides came closest to scoring in the first half, when Roma had a goal from Mattia Destro waved off for offside and Inters Rodrigo Palacio headed high. "A draw was a fair result. Neither squad had many chances," Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic said.RENTON, Wash. - For the first time since Week 5, the Seattle Seahawks have just three players listed as questionable or worse heading into Sundays game against the Philadelphia Eagles.Center Max Unger has officially been ruled out for the third straight week with a high-ankle sprain. TSN Baseball Analyst Steve Phillips answers several questions surrounding the game each week. Nick Boyle Jersey . This weeks topics include comparing Bryce Harpers playoff record to Mickey Mantles, the more intriguing LCS matchup, Kershaws playoff struggles and Mattinglys job security. 1) The Division Series saw some dubious stats comparisons: Bryce Harper tied Mickey Mantle (amongst others) for all-time post-season home runs before the age of 22 (with four) and Nelson Cruz passed Babe Ruth for all-time post-season home runs (16). Do these records mean much, given that the records being broken are from players whose only post-season games were in the World Series? Make no mistake about it: Bryce Harper hitting four homers before the age of 22 and Nelson Cruzs 16 career post-season homers are special accomplishments. It is amazing. Stats tell a story about patterns of behavior/performance. They only have meaning, though, in comparison to something else. The reality is that the sheer number of homers doesnt tell the whole story. The number of games played and at bats matter. The post season is different now than it used to be. We have more rounds now, which give todays players more opportunities to accumulate stats. Bryce Harper is not Mickey Mantle but any player earning four post-season homers before the age of 22 is special no matter how many games it takes to get them. By the way, it took Mantle 59 at-bats for his homers and took Harper just 40. Nelson Cruz has hit his 16 homers in 138 plate appearances, while Ruths 15 homers came in 129 at bats. Many people look at baseball today and say that the talent is diluted compared to the eras in which Ruth and Mantle played. Expansion has spread the talent across more teams. They believe that todays numbers are fortified by lesser competition. That is not necessarily true. Remember Ruth played in the era of segregation, when the best African American and minority players werent allowed in the major leagues. Therefore, his performance was enhanced by lesser competition too. Other factors to consider today are that stadiums are more hitter friendly and the pitchers mound was lowered in the early 70s to provide another advantage for todays hitters. Dont forget that Cruz was found to have used PEDs in his career. I dont know for sure when or for how long he did, but I assume the effects of the drugs may have helped him for some number of his homers. The bottom line is that whether you played in the 1920s or 1960s or in the 2010s, hitting post-season homers should be celebrated. For the record I will take Ruth and Mantle over Harper and Cruz on my team. 2. The LCS match-ups could not be in greater contrast. In the American League, the Orioles and Royals meet with a combined World Series drought of 60 years. In the National its the Cardinals and Giants, who now have seven combined NLCS appearances between them over the past five seasons, including a previous head-to-head match-up in 2012. How will these match-ups stack up against one another in terms of entertainment value? I believe there will be more interest in the National League Championship Series than the American League Series. Fans like name recognition and brand recognition. That is what garners more interest than anything. Pitching matchups also pique fans interest and the Madison Baumgarner vs. Adam Wainwright matchup will be phenomenal. I cant wait to watch it. The ALCS will be interesting for those that watch it but the casual fan might not take the time to sit and view. James Shields vs. Chris Tillman doesnt stimulate the senses quite like the names in the NLCS. I think both series will be interesting and exciting. The Giants and the Cardinals are pretty evenly matched. The Cards have a slight edge in starting pitching because I prefer Adam Wainwright over Madison Baumgarner in the head-to-head match-up of aces. The bullpens are comparable, although I like the strikeout ability of closer Trevor Rosenthal of the Cards over the contact style of Giants closer Santiago Casilla. Offensively, neither team possesses great power but the Cards have better overall lineup. Giants manager Bruce Bochy is the best in the game today and has an edge over the Cards Mike Matheny despite his early success at the helm. Im picking the Cards to win the Series in seven games. The Royals and Orioles starting rotations are pretty comparable. I give the edge to Kansas City because they are led by Big Game James Shields. Shields has previous playoff experience with the Tampa Bay Rays, which will prove helpful in this series. The bullpens are both very good, but again I give the advantage to the Royals even if set-up man Kelvin Herrera is hurting. Defensively the Royals have been playing out of their minds this post-season. Their outfielders have run down just about everything the opposition has hit in the air that hasnt gone over the walls, advantage Royals. The Orioles offence is far superior to the Royals. They have much more power and quick-strike production. Although the Royals hit several homers in the ALDS, they are by far more of a manufacturing offense than a power club. The Royals have great speed on the bases and that will be a challenge for the Orioles, yet having to lump multiple hits together for a single run could be a problem for the Royals. Oppositely, the Orioles are often in scoring position when they are standing at home plate with their power. The differential between the two offenses is more substantial than the Royals advantage in pitching and defence. Add the five-day layoff after the ALDS that hurts the Royals more than the Orioles, and Ill pick the Orioles to win the series in six games. I believe the ratings for the NLCS will be better than the ALCS. I just ask that fans give the AL series a chance. I think you could really like the type of game the Royals and Orioles play. Plus, the fans in these two cities are rabid right now, they are desperate for a pennant. That always makes the games more interesting. 3. The Dodgers got bounced in four games by the Cardinals, despite getting two starts in the series from ace Clayton Kershaw. Did Kershaw choke? If not, who should be held accountable for the loss after a 94-win regular season? For the record, I hate the word choke. Sometimes players get the job done and sometimes they dont. The same player may get the job done in a critical situation one time and not the next time. That doesnt mean he choked. Clayton Kershaw threw six innings of one-run baseball in Game 1 before things blew up in the 7th inning. Does that mean Kershaw choked? Not for me. He pitched great for six innings and then choked? No! So what happened in the 7th inning? Baseball happened! Rather than criticizing Clayton Kershaw credit the Cardinals for taking advantage of the situation. They made him pay for his mistakes. They found holes and they put up eight runs before you can say Red Schoendist. In Game 4 Kershaw threw six shout out innings before getting tagged with a three-run homer by Matt Adams. Kershaw made very few mistakes in that game despite pitching on three days rest. He unfortunately hung a curve ball and Adams hit it out of the park. Since it went out of the park Kershaw choked? No way. That ball could have easily been a line drive right at some one for an out. It could have been caught at the wall or hit off the wall and the game could have been dramatically different. No one is to blame. Just give credit to Matt Adams. Clayton Kershaw does not have great post-season numbers does that make him a choker? The same is always said about Peyton Manning in football. He has all the MVP awards from great regular seasons but only one Super Bowl championship. They call him a choker. For the longest time Barry Bonds was called a choker because of poor post-season performance. That is until he finally hit in the post-season. Alex Rodriguez was the same way. Forever he was ripped in New York for being a poor post-season hitter until he hit in the post-season. Give me the player who continuously gets me to the post season and sooner or later he will perform then. Talent always finds a way. Give me Peyton Manning over Eli Manning everyday of the week. Doug Fister of the Nationals has pitched in three elimination games for in his career and his teams have won all three with him getting two of the wins. Ryan Vogelsong of the Giants is 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA in five post-season starts, while Clayton Kershaw is 1-5 with a 5.12 ERA in his career. I will take Kershaw over both of them without hesitation. If I could draft one pitcher today to start Game 1 for my team in the 2015 playoffs I would choose Clayton Kershaw. Give me the best player with the most talent and I will take my chances. The Dodgers lost to the Cardinals because their team got outpitched and outhit. Sure Kershaw has a share in that but they would never have been in that position without him. He can pitch for my team anytime. 4) After the Cardinals defeated the Dodgers on Tuesday night to advance to the NLCS you would have thought that it was an upset the likes of Appalachian State beating Michigan or the 1980 US Mens Hockey team defeating the Soviets. There was slight acknowledgment of the Cardinals great play but mostly everyone wanted to crush the Dodgers for the loss. Specifically, fans and media are screaming for Don Mattingly to lose his job. The argument is that since the Dodgers had the highest payroll in the game, the season is a failure if they dont win the World Series. In fact, the Dodgers had somehow assumed the expectations of the Yankees. Heads must roll if the Dodgers didnt win the World Series. I mean, really, what was Mattingly thinking pitching Clayton Kershaw (21-3 1.77 ERA), the best starter in baseball? How did Mattingly not know that his ace, who will win both the NL Cy Young Award and MVP, would lose two games in the series? How dare he bench Yasiel Puig in Game 4 after he had struck out in eight of his last nine at-bats? The Twitter-sphere was abuzz with criticism of Mattingly for pinch running with Puig in the ninth inning while pinch-hitting Justin Turner. Why wouldnt he have batted Puig and run Turner instead? Why did Mattingly opt not to pinch-hit Puig who had a measly four homers and 17 RBI after the All Star break? What is so impressive about Turners .419 batting average with runners in scoring position? People couldnt believe Mattingly could have been so stupid. The fact is that the Dodgers lost to a very good team in the Cardinals. There is no shame in losing to them. The Dodgers won the NL West title for the second straight season. Under Mattinglys leadership they have gone from 82 wins in 2011 to 86 wins to 92 in 2013 and 94 this year. They advanced to the NLCS last season where they lost to the Cardinals. This season the Cards got them in the NLDS. How can this be looked at as failure? This Dodgers team was a tough one to manage. Just because a team has the highest payroll doesnt mean that it is as easy as just rolling the bats and balls on the field and writing a line-up. It takes work. Mattingly earned his money. It started the season with having four everyday outfielders for three positions. The call-up of two young outfielders made the juggling of playing-time even more difficult. Yasiel Puig is a handful who lives recklessly and plays recklessly. He made the most outs on the bases and he ran until he was tagged out at times. Puig has a bit of an attitude that at times rubbed his teammates the wrong way; there were several issues between Puig and his teammates this season. Hanley Ramirez can be a bit moody too. I understand that the Dodgers had the largest payroll in baseball, but the notion that it is a failed season if they dont win a World Series is absurd. Its arrogant. There are plenty of other good teams in baseball too. Remember it is not always the best team that wins but the team that plays the best. Don Mattingly did a good job this year and any thought of his termination is crazy. Austin Howard Jersey . The two were in the batting cage moments before game time. Bautista was taking final warm up cuts. Pillar was hitting soft toss. The one-time utility player turned All-Star pulled aside the clubs young, fourth outfielder and offered him some advice. Ray Lewis Jersey . -- Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday for the first time in his seven-year career because of a swollen muscle in his left upper back. While the Edmonton Oilers game on Saturday versus the Vancouver Canucks wont have an impact on the standings, it will have plenty of meaning for the organization and fans in attendance at Rexall Place. The Oilers will bid farewell to forward Ryan Smyth in his final NHL contest after announcing his retirement on Friday. One of the most popular players in Oilers history, Smyth spent a total of 15 seasons in Edmonton and ranks second on the franchises all-time list with 970 games played. The Alberta native enters Saturdays matchup tied with Hall of Famer Glenn Anderson for the club career mark with 126 power-play goals. The 38-year-old ranks fifth in franchise history with 296 goals, coming in behind a number of legendary players like Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Anderson and Mark Messier, and Smyth is sixth in team annals with 631 points. "I have been truly blessed to play this game for as long as I have and will cherish the memories forever," Smyth said on Friday. "After some difficult discussions over the past week, I felt it was best to make this decision and move on with life after hockey and enjoy every minute I have with my family." Edmonton made Smyth the sixth overall pick of the 1994 draft and he stayed with the club before a memorable trade to the New York Islanders in February of 2007 after the club was unable to come to terms with the forward on a contract extension. The unpopular move was highlighted by Smyths tearful goodbye while thanking the fans and organization. Smyth finished up that season with the Islanders and then spent his next four seasons split with the Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings before returning the Oilers by way of trade in June of 2011. In 1,269 career games, the veteran has totaled 386 goals, 456 assists and 842 points. He has 10 goals and 13 assists in 71 games this season. Smyths farewell should give some added energy to tonights regular-season finale for the Oilers, who are lastt in the Western Conference with 65 points and just 15-22-3 at home on the season. Sam Koch Jersey. Edmonton began a season-closing four-game homestand with a win over Anaheim, but has followed with setbacks to Colorado and Los Angeles. The Oilers were blanked 3-0 by the Kings on Thursday. Viktor Fasth stopped 45 shots for the Oilers, including 23 in the third period. However, he was beaten for a goal just 23 seconds into the game and the Oilers were down 2-0 by the end of the first period. "You cant give a Stanley Cup contender the lead that early," said Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins. "Our top line, our best line is on the ice and a real easy assignment and its in our net. It cant happen." Edmonton has lost five of its last seven games and saw forward Sam Gagner exit in the second period with an ankle injury. It has also been a disappointing campaign for the Canucks, who were knocked out of playoff contention on Tuesday and lost for the fifth time in six games with Thursdays 4-2 setback to the Avalanche. David Booth and Henrik Sedin scored for the Canucks, while defenseman Dan Hamhuis had two assists. Jacob Markstrom gave up three goals on 27 shots, making his first start since being acquired from Florida as part of the Roberto Luongo trade on March 4. "We played well. We played hard. I thought Markstrom looked really good," Vancouver head coach John Tortorella said. Thursdays game came one day after former captain Trevor Linden was named the president of hockey operations. President and general manager Mike Gillis was fired on Tuesday. The Canucks went 1-4-0 on a five-game homestand and end the regular season at home versus Calgary on Sunday. The Canucks won their first three meetings with this season with the Oilers by a 12-3 margin, but lost the most recent encounter 4-2 in Vancouver on Jan. 27. Vancouver has still won nine of the previous 13 matchups overall. Wholesale Jerseys 2018 Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys From China Jerseys NFL China ' ' '
