OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Lakers caught the Thunder by surprise on Sunday. Gordon Hayward Jersey . Los Angeles had no such luck in the rematch. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant scored 29 points apiece, and Oklahoma City avenged Sundays surprising loss to the Lakers by rolling past them 131-102 Thursday night. Lakers guard Jodie Meeks, who scored a career-high 42 points on Sunday, was held to 19 on 6-for-15 shooting. Westbrook said the Thunder didnt pay extra attention to Meeks. "We just did what we did," Westbrook said. "He just happened to get lucky the first time. We aint worried about what Jodie Meeks does. Were just worried about playing Thunder defence." Westbrook shot poorly against Lakers on Sunday, but he made 9 of 17 shots and had nine assists in 23 minutes in the rematch. Hes become more focused on passing and has been more efficient since his return from knee surgery. "Its real fun, especially when we win," he said. "As long as we continue to do a good job of playing together and everybody gets in a good groove, I think well be all right." Serge Ibaka added 15 points, 13 rebounds and a season-high seven blocks for the Thunder, who won their second straight and climbed within half a game of San Antonio for the top record in the Western Conference. "We knew they were going to be ready, especially here at home," Lakers centre Pau Gasol said. "Theyre playing for trying to get the best record in the league, were not. Theyre situation is just a tiny bit different than ours. " Kent Bazemore scored 16 points and Gasol added 14 for the Lakers. Los Angeles allowed at least 131 points for the fourth time in five games. "I didnt think we were focused coming out like we were Sunday, and you cant do that against this team," Lakers coach Mike DAntoni said. "We cant lose them in transition two or three times. Theyre a good offensive team, so if you give them extra points, then you are going to get beat." The Lakers trimmed an 18-point deficit to 11 in the second quarter before Westbrook returned from a brief rest to ignite a 13-1 run that gave the Thunder a 52-29 lead. Oklahoma City led 60-46 at halftime. Westbrook had 14 points and six assists in 15 minutes and Durant had 13 points. The Thunder outrebounded the Lakers 33-16 in the first half and held them to 37 per cent shooting. Durant, who rarely gets into foul trouble, picked up his fourth with 10:16 left in the third quarter. Ryan Kelly hit a 3-pointer with 7:30 left in the period to cut Oklahoma Citys lead to 69-58, causing the Thunder to call a timeout. Oklahoma Citys Caron Butler hit a 3-pointer right out of the short break and Ibaka followed with a midrange jumper to boost the advantage to 16 points. Westbrook drained a 3-pointer to push Oklahoma Citys lead to 23 midway through the quarter, and Westbrook wore a broad smile as the Lakers called timeout. By the time Durant re-entered the game, Oklahoma City led 90-68. "When the game was kind of getting out of whack, I just felt like it was the right time to pass the ball, rebound or score, or whatever it took to get us over the hump and keep us rolling," Westbrook said. In the final seconds of the third quarter, Ibaka swatted a shot by Xavier Henry and the Thunder rebounded. Butler hit a 3-pointer in the final second of the period to push Oklahoma Citys lead to 101-77. "I think its hard to play the same team twice back-to-back so that was a little difficult, but it is what it is," Gasol said. "We cant make any excuses and we have to deal with it." NOTES: Thunder G Andre Roberson, who has spent much of the season in the D-League, got his fifth start. ... Westbrook scored nine points in the first four minutes, including a dunk to start the game. ... The Thunder shot 57 per cent in the first quarter and led 33-19 at the end of the period. The Lakers shot just 31 per cent in the first 12 minutes. ... Butler had 11 points and six rebounds on his 34th birthday. ... Durant was issued a technical foul with 23 seconds left in the first half. John Havlicek Jersey . Heavily-criticized after allowing a dozen goals on 58 shots in two games in Boston, Luongo continued his dominance at home. Hes now allowed two goals in three home games in this series. Al Horford Jersey . -- Brad Gushue of St.HAMILTON - The Abbotsford Heat twice battled back from a goal behind on Sunday, before finally edging ahead in the shootout. Markus Granlund scored the shootout winner as the Heat defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 in the American Hockey League. "It was tough on us, losing the last few games, and with this being our last game before Christmas we will definitely take the win," said Granlund. Dean Arsene and Ben Hanowski had goals for the Heat (21-9-2), while Joni Ortio stopped 32 shots. The win ended a three-game losing streak for Abbotsford. Joonas Nattinen had a goal and an assist, and Joel Chouinard also scored for the Bulldogs (12-14-4). Dustin Tokarski made 39 saves. Hamilton has now lost five consecutive games. "We have to bring those points home," said Hamilton head coach Sylvain Lefebvre. "Its disappointing. "Abbotsford is a good team, and theyre not in first place in our conference for nothing. Theyre a team that battles and competes." Granlund scored on Abbotsfords second attempt of the shootout, while Corban Knight added a goal on the fourth attempt. Ortio stopped all four Hamilton shots. A penalty to Hamiltons Mike Blunden just 49 seconds into the first period put the Bulldogs on their heels, and the hosts struggled to exit their defensive zone early in the period. It took Hamilton nearly seven minutes to register its first shot, but the Bulldogs began to manufacture offensive pressure with the trio of Nattinen, Justin Courtnall and Stefan Fournier establishing a cycle midway through the period. The Heat forced several tough saves from Bulldogs goaltender Tokarski, with the sharpest of those coming with four and a half minutes to play in the period. Abbotsford broke into the offensive zone through the right wing, and Tokarski denied a low slap shot intended for his far post and smothered the loose puck. The goaltender turned aside all 13 shots he faced in the first period, while his counterpart Ortio successfully stopped nine. Hamilton capitalized on offensive pressure in the aftermath of a power play to open the scoring at 4:35 of the second period. Morgan Ellis took a low slap shot frrom the point that bounced to Fournier in the low slot, and he tipped it ahead to Nattinen. Kevin Mchale Jersey. The centre moved to his backhand and slotted the puck past a diving Ortio. As Abbotsford chased an equalizer, it was Blunden who nearly doubled Hamiltons lead a minute and a half later when Martin St. Pierre found him with a cross-ice pass and the winger fired a rising wrist shot that Ortio knocked to the corner with his shoulder. The Heat found the tying goal on a seemingly harmless play, as Arsene took a long-range wrist shot that eluded Tokarski and clipped his far post as it crossed the goal line at 9:56 of the second period. Arsenes goal was his first of the season. Hamilton re-established a lead at 11:18 of the second period, when another defenceman, Chouinard, scored his first goal of the season. Jordan Owens found Nattinen in the high slot with a centring pass, and the forward responded to defensive pressure with a drop pass to Chouinard at the blue-line. The defenceman fired a low slap shot that moved through traffic and beat the screened Ortio. The Heat struck early in the third period to level the game once again, as Hanowski pounced on a rebound to score at 4:47. Tokarski reacted well to stop Josh Jooris initial shot with his left pad, but Hanowski beat the Bulldogs defenders to the rebound and chipped it high and past the downed goaltender. The play was wide open and frantic in the final minutes of the third period as both teams searched for a winning goal. Tokarski made two exceptional saves before the period came to a close, and denied Sven Baertschi from close range without a stick with 23 seconds to play. Lefebvre was not content with his teams loose play in the period that repeatedly forced Tokarski into action. "Thats not the style that we want to play," he said. "We got stuck in our own zone on a few long shifts, and (Abbotsford) got a few good scoring chances. Thats where Tokarski had to be good, and he gave us a chance to win the game tonight." Abbotsford enjoyed a minute and a half of 4-on-3 power-play time to open the overtime period, but could not find a way past Tokarski. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The Bolts will play for the third time in four nights having lost consecutive games to Philadelphia and Boston to begin the week. They were routed 7-3 by the Flyers on Monday, then dropped a 4-3 decision to the Bruins the following night. Tampa Bay has lost two in a row for the first time since another set of back- to-back games on Dec. 19-20. The Lightning got a pair of goals from Steven Stamkos versus the Bruins, while Ryan Callahan also scored for a Lightning club that still leads the Montreal Canadiens by one point for first place in the Atlantic Division. Weve just got to get back to the structure, Callahan said. We had lapses, mistakes. Youre going to have those throughout the season, but you have to realize it as quick as possible and not let it slide on you and not let it snowball. Ben Bishop surrendered four goals on 34 shots in having a five-decision win streak halted as the Lightning played without leading scorer Tyler Johnson (46 points) and defenseman Victor Hedman. Both sustained lower-body injuries versus the Flyers. The Oilers come to town riding a club-record 13-game skid on the road. Pouliot has a goal in three straight games, while Roy has five points over his past three contests and seven in eight games since joining Edmonton following a trade with Nashville. The Oilers also are set to visit Florida and Washington on a four-game swing. Edmonton has won two straight and five of its past seven versus the Lightning, but has lost four of its previous five trips to Tampa. The Oilers recorded a 3-2 victory at home over the Bolts on Oct. 20 as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the go-ahead goal with 3:25 to play and Scrivens made 22 saves. Bishop allowed three goals on 23 shots, falling to 2-1-0 lifetime versus the Oilers with a 1.97 goals against average and .942 save percentage with one shutout. PRETORIA, South Africa -- Oscar Pistorius fired guns in public in the months before he killed his girlfriend -- once out of a car sunroof on a road and once in a crowded restaurant, a onetime friend said at the athletes murder trial Tuesday, drawing an aggressive effort from the chief defence lawyer to pick holes in his testimony. Scott Tolzien Jersey . The account by Darren Fresco portrayed Pistorius as a reckless hothead infatuated with firearms and seemingly drifting down a precarious path before he fatally shot Reeva Steenkamp through a closed toilet door at his home before dawn on Feb. 14, 2013. Frescos description of how Pistorius once berated a police officer fit the prosecutions attempts to cast the double-amputee athlete as prone to flashes of anger and blinded by an inflated sense of entitlement at a time when his public image was that of a clean-cut poster boy for overcoming adversity. "I said to him, are you (expletive) mad?" Fresco testified after, he said, Pistorius fired his gun out of the sunroof of the car later on the same day that he had the dispute with the police officer. "He just laughed." At the same time, the testimony was coming from a man whose own actions were under scrutiny. Judge Thokozile Masipa cautioned Fresco, who was also a friend of Steenkamp, that some questions could incriminate him for offences including discharge of a firearm in a built-up area, negligent damage to property and reckless endangerment. She said he would not be prosecuted if he answered the questions truthfully. Pistorius, 27, denies shooting the gun in the car, although now two witnesses say that he did. The athlete is on trial for murder in the killing of Steenkamp, and also faces two firearm charges for shooting in public and a third firearm charge for illegal possession of ammunition. Pistorius says he shot Steenkamp by mistake, thinking she was a dangerous intruder. The prosecution says he killed her after an argument. The athletes demeanour in court Tuesday was drastically different from the previous day, when he needed a vomit bucket as he heard a pathologist give graphic details of the injuries he inflicted on his girlfriend when he shot her multiple times. This time, Pistorius mostly sat with his hands in his lap and often made notes. Fresco testified that Pistorius altercation with a police officer happened in late 2012, when their car was pulled over by traffic police for the second time that day. He said Pistorius was furious with an officer for handling his gun, which he had left on the passenger seat. "You cant just touch another mans gun," Pistorius said to the officer, according to Fresco. "He started telling the officer: Now your fingerprints are all over my gun, so if something happens, you are then going to be liable for anything that had happened. He was furious about that. Someone else had touched his gun." Fresco and a former Pistorius girlfriend have both testified that the Olympian shot his gun out of the car sunroof later that day. But their stories do not match in parts, a fact highlighted by defence lawyer Barry Roux. Fresco, who said he was driving the car, testified that Pistorius fired without warning sometime after visiting an unidentified persons house. Samantha Taylor, who was dating the athlete at the time and was in the car, has testified that it happened soon after the altercation with police and after Pistorius and Fresco discussed finding a traffic light to shoot at. Roux also questioned Fresco about an incident at a packed Johannesburg restaurant in the posh Melrose Arch district in early 2013 -- about a month before Steenkamps death -- when he said he handed his gun under the table to Pistorius and it fired. According to Fresco, Pistorius said there was too much "media hype" around him and asked Fresco to take the blame for the shooting, which he did. Fresco said he had warned Pistorius that the gun was "one-up," meaning it had a bullet in the chamber. "I knew that he had a big love for weapons," Fresco testified. "My assumption was that he had competency." Roux asked Fresco when exactly he had warned Pistorius that there was a magazine in the gun and a bullet in the chamber, and when Pistorius had asked him to take the rap. The friend couldnt pinpoint the precise times. "Will you agree, Mr. Fresco, you have uncertainty ... about what specifically happened and what was said?" Roux asked. Roux sought to undermine Frescos character, questioning why he crumpled up a speeding ticket and threw it on the floor of the car after he and Pistorius were stopped by the police. Fresco also said hed been following some previous testimony in the case on Twitter, which witnesses should not do. If convicted on the murder charge, Pistorius could be sent to prison for at least 25 years before the chance of parole, the minimum time someone must serve if given a life sentence in South Africa. The judge will ultimately deliver the verdict and decide on any sentence. South Africa has no trial by jury. Pistorius was born without fibula bones because of a congenital defect, and his legs were amputated when he was 11 months old. He ran on carbon-fiber blades and is a multiple Paralympic medallist . He also competed at the London Olympics but didnt win a medal. Darryl Morris Jersey . Wall made the comment in a speech to a Regina business crowd that included Lesnar. Jets are now 4-1 in overtime. It was the first game since Paul Maurice took over behind the bench that the Jets allowed more than two goals. It was the 14th time the Jets have gone to extra time. The Jets have now won five of their last six. The Jets got the start they were looking for with a good forecheck by Blake Wheeler forcing a turnover that resulted in a goal by Mark Scheifele, his 10th of the year, the eighth Jet to get to double digits this season, the pass to Scheifele coming from Evander Kane. Kane has 14 points in his last 15 games. It was only the second time in the six games under Maurice that the Jets opened the scoring. The Jets then went on the power play and a pass from Jacob Trouba to Blake Wheeler who was in full flight down the left wing led to a goal, as Wheeler went five hole on James Reimer for his team-leading 19th of the year. At the other end of the ice Ondrej Pavelec made at least two outstanding saves, his best a glove save off Phil Kessel. Shots in the first were 12-11 in favour of Toronto. The power play goal by Wheeler was the Jets first in four games, after a 0-for-10 stretch over three games. The second period was a wild one. The Leafs got on the score sheet with a power play goal from Dion Phaneuf, but a power play goal by Bryan Little put the Jets back in front by two, his 17th of the year and fifth on the power play. Little redirected a slap pass from Toby Enstrom, with an assist to Dustin Byfuglien as well. It was the Jets second power play goal of the game, the sixth time this season the Jets scored two power play goals in a game. A screened shot from the blue line from Zach Bogosian made it 4-1 and chased Reimer in favour of Jonathan Bernier. For Bogosian, it was his second of the year from Little and Ladd as the Jets get two in 37 seconds. Troy Bodie got the Leafs to within two at 9:14 making it four goals in 3:01. The Jets then ran into penalty trouble and were two men short for just under a minute, but were successful on the penalty kill and are 7-for-7 on the season when down two men. T.J. Green Jersey. Tim Gleason with his first of the year at 16:44 made it a one-goal game, 4-3, after forty minutes. Shots in the second were 12-8 Jets. The third period settled down a bit and was not as wide open, although both Pavelec and Bernier still had to make some good saves. Phil Kessel tied the game with 1:33 left scoring his 27th of the year, sending the game to overtime and setting the stage for Dustin Byfuglien to beat Bernier glove side off the rush to end the game with his 12th goal of the year. Andrew Ladd and Michael Frolik drew assists, as Byfuglien was moved back to defence for overtime. Final shots were 32-28 Jets. Enstrom led the Jets in ice time at 26:03, followed by Trouba at 25:39 and Bogosian at 24:15. Devin Setoguchi had five shots on goal, he also led the team in hits with six. Little was the top face-off man at 57 per cent winning 12 of 21. After having his point streak stopped at five Thursday, Little had a goal and an assist in this game. Wheeler and Byfuglien also had two-point nights. It was Pavelecs eighth straight start – he has won five of his last six starts. “At times every functioning part of our game was good,” said Maurice in his post-game news conference. “There were some stretches where we werent great but theyve got a good team and theyre explosive. But an overtime win on a Saturday night against the Leafs, well take it and enjoy every inch of it. Emotions can get away on you in a game like this but I didnt see that from our group.” Coach Maurice felt this win is another confidence builder for the team. On Byfuglien going back to defence in overtime: “Its an unbelievable luxury for us. I always wanted to go three forwards and one D in overtime and just go, open it up, trade chances four on four. Having Byfuglien move back is a big benefit for us.” The Jets are in Chicago Sunday night for the final game of the season against the Hawks (TSN Jets, TSN 1290). The ‘Hawks have won all three prior meetings this season. Its the seventh back-to-back of the season (0-6), and ends a stretch of three games in four nights. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

PITTSBURGH -- Yovani Gallardo was pitching so well he just needed one run to get a win. Craig Biggio Jersey . His catcher got him all the support he needed, with some help from an eager fan. Gallardo pitched seven crisp innings, Jonathan Lucroy doubled and scored on Aramis Ramirezs groundout, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 on Sunday. "Yo was outstanding," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "Just hung in there and made some great pitches, got better as the game went on." Gallardo (4-4) had a season-high eight strikeouts in his second win in his last three starts. He allowed four hits and walked one. The Pirates had at least one baserunner in five of Gallardos seven innings, but the right-hander got sharper as the game progressed. "I was able to get out of some big situations and make pitches," Gallardo said. "Thats always something positive to go from." Jeff Locke also pitched seven solid innings in a spot start for the Pirates. Locke was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to start in place of Charlie Morton, who was pushed back a day to Monday. Pittsburgh also put right-hander Gerrit Cole on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder fatigue. Locke (0-1) struck out five and walked one in his second start of the season. The left-hander, who made the All-Star team last season, allowed six runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings against San Francisco on May 5. "He gave us everything we could have asked for him to give us today," manager Clint Hurdle said. "And more." Locke said he benefited from being "on the same page" with catcher Russell Martin. "We just knew I was going to pitch my game," he said. "He just put down the right fingers and moved the ball around a little bit." Lucroy sparked the only scoring sequence of the game when he led off the seventh with a liner down the left-field line that was grabbed by a fan while it was in play. Lucroy was awarded a ground-rule double on the interference. Lucroy went to second on Carlos Gomezs lineout to centre and scored on Ramirezs bouncer to first. The Pirates then loaded the bases with one out in the bottom half. But Gallardo struck out pinch-hitter Jose Tabata and Josh Harrison popped out to second to end the inning. Pittsburgh left 10 runners on base in its 10th loss in 13 games this season against NL Central-leading Milwaukee. Martin and Hurdle also were ejected in the eighth. With two out and Andrew McCutchen on third, Martin looked a called third strike on a curveball from Francisco Rodriguez on the lower-inside edge of the plate. Martin spiked his bat and helmet in the batters box. Hurdle then confronted umpire Ed Hickox about the call and was thrown out. Roenicke said he thought the pitch looked questionable based on the way his catcher reacted to it. "(Lucroy) made that pitch look a little not-as-good-as it probably was," Roenicke said. "Just because he was maybe in between trying to block or decide where the ball was going to end up." Lucroy said he did not think the pitch was a strike. The Pirates then put runners on first and second in the ninth, but Rodriguez got Travis Snider to hit into a fielders choice that advanced Starling Marte to third and retired Harrison for his 19th save. "I ended up making the right pitches to get out of (the jam)," Rodriguez said. "So its definitely a nice win." HARRISON, N. Nashville Predators Jerseys .J. -- Whatever joy the New York Red Bulls felt about moving into a first-place tie with Sporting KC was overshadowed by the opportunity they missed in their scoreless tie against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night. New York found little satisfaction in a game dominated by strong midfield defence and outstanding goalkeeping from the Red Bulls Luis Robles and Philadelphias Zac MacMath. With bodies moving up and clogging the middle third of the field, space for passing and solid scoring chances came at a premium. For some, like Red Bulls midfielders Dax McCarty and Tim Cahill, the outcome felt more like failure than advancement for their 11-8-6 team, which hasnt scored in two games. "Tonight, I feel like we dropped two points," said McCarty, whose bullet-like header in the final seconds of stoppage time found MacMaths abdomen just inches from the Union goal line. "It doesnt feel like we got a point." Cahill added that the Red Bulls pace was too slow, that they played into Philadelphias hands even though they controlled the ball for 65 per cent of the game. "To feel the way we feel, its a bit mixed," Cahill said. "It shows us where we are as a club. We were too slow, 100 per cent. In a game like that, somebody has to do something to change it. We played at 70 per cent and still couldnt win." The Red Bulls went into the game looking for three points against a rival who has yet to beat them at home. The Union are 0-5-1 lifetime in Red Bull Arena, so avoiding a loss and remaining in third place with 38 points, a point behind New York and KC, was sufficient for coach John Hackworth. "The atmosphere tonight was fantastic," Hackworth said. "It had the feel of a playoff game. We were trying to come in here and get our first point. With the playoffs coming, theres great implications to that." Philadelphia, 10-7-8, came close to giving up a winning goal in the 63rd minute, but was bailed out when MacMath leaped out in front of Peguy Luyindula and grabbed Cahills header near the goalmouth. MacMath had a strong game from the beginning, as the MLS co-leader with nine clean sheets contributed two huge saves in the first half. Sebastian LeToux nearly put the Union on the board in the 73rd minute when the midfielder blasted a shot off the crossbar. He also had a point-blank chance in the 80th minute that Robles stopped dead with a fingertip save. Red Bulls midfielder Jonny Steele nearly scored in the 79th minute with a shot that went inches wide of the right post. The Red Bulls had the best chance of the opening half in the 34th minute on Fabian Espindolas header off a feed from Steele. But MacMath got his hand on it and lifted it over the crossbar. MacMath saved the Union in the 29th minute, too, when he came out in front of Thierry Henry to grab McCartys cross, thwarting what would have been an easy header for the Red Bulls captain and scoring leader. Still, the Red Bulls wound up with a share of first place, even only till Sunday night when Sporting plays struggling San Jose. "Im happy about first place," Red Bulls coach Mike Petke said. "Im not happy about the game. But its a point and well take it and move on." Custom Nashville Predators Jerseys . Ryan Getzlaf certainly got them started in the second. Getzlaf scored the first two goals in the second, and Teemu Selanne scored the go-ahead goal late in the period as the Anaheim Ducks beat the Nashville Predators 4-3 Thursday night. Dante Fabbro Jersey . 31-Feb. 2. While organizers havent decided if itll be red or green clay, they feel their choice of surface will give the Americans an advantage over Britain, which is expected to be led by defending Wimbledon champion Andy Murray. SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The start of the San Francisco 49ers three-day mandatory minicamp was overshadowed by the players who were absent. Two-time Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis and right guard Alex Boone skipped Tuesdays activities. Both starters are seeking raises despite two years left on their contracts. Cornerback Eric Wright, a seven-year veteran who played in seven games for the 49ers last season, announced his retirement. Wright said in a statement released through the team that he "no longer had the same passion" for the game. While Wrights announcement came as a surprise in the locker room, Davis and Boone are far bigger contributors to a 49ers team that has Super Bowl aspirations. Coach Jim Harbaugh said he appreciates players who show up for the voluntary workouts in the off-season but expects everybody in attendance for the mandatory meetings. He said he was disappointed that Davis and Boone are not at the minicamp. "Not the decision that I envisioned being the 49er way," Harbaugh said. "Really nothing more to be said about it. The focus will be on whats going on here." Players can be fined nearly $70,000 if they miss all three days of the minicamp, per the NFLs collective bargaining agreement. If Davis and Boone continue to hold out, they set the stage for what could be a major distraction leading into training camp next month for a franchise that has avoided such contract disputes the past few seasons under Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke. Neither Davis nor Boone was present during the first eight weeks of the teams voluntary program. Davis sacrificed a $200,000 bonus and Boone $50,000 for missing the workouts. And while both are seeking new deals, Davis has been the most vocal about his situation. "In 2010 I signed a five-year, $37 million contract extension with $23 million guaranteed. It was the biggest contract for a tight end in league history. Four years later, and Im playing at a higher level than I was then, which brings me to why Im holding out," Davis wrote in a guest column for MMQB.com on Monday. "Its all about getting paid what you deserve. Its not that complicated. I want the 49ers to win the Super Bowl, and I want to be on the field this summer working toward that goal, but I have to worry about my future first." "Most of my teammates and many players in the NFL understand that. A few dont," Davis continued. "Behind closed doors, theylll say theyre all about the team and would run through a brick wall for the organization. Pekka Rinne Jersey. But when you look closer, theyre doing things to contradict themselves. I cant listen to anyone but my family and my advisors, because those are the people who are going to be there when football inevitably dumps me." Davis, who initially acted coy about skipping the teams voluntary off-season program, began making his displeasure known shortly before the 49ers announced they had given quarterback Colin Kaepernick a six-year contract extension through the 2020 season that could be worth up to $126 million. Davis, who is now 30 years old, had 52 catches for 850 yards and accounted for 13 of Kaepernicks 21 touchdown passes last season. The tight end has repeatedly talked about marketing his "brand" this off-season after signing a deal with Fantex, which sells shares of Davis "stock" to investors. The San Francisco company paid Davis $4 million in return for 10 per cent of his future earnings from football, commercial endorsements and other jobs that he may get during the remainder of his life. The 27-year-old Boone signed a contract extension while he was a backup tackle in November 2011. He has two years remaining on the deal, which will reportedly pay him $2.25 million this season and $1.45 million next season. Most of their teammates responded in similar fashion when asked about their absences -- saying its a decision each player has to make on their own. Second-year safety Eric Reid, whose locker is next to Wrights, said it was a little surprising when he heard Wright was considering not playing anymore. Wright had been competing for the job vacated by former starters Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown, who both signed with the Oakland Raiders in free agency. The 49ers are treating minicamp as an opportunity for others to make an impact. Vance McDonald and Garrett Celek are expected to receive most of the practice repetitions behind Davis at tight end. Joe Looney is competing at the guard spot, while tackle Jonathan Martin is receiving some time at guard. Daniel Kilgore also can play centre and guard. Tramaine Brock, Chris Culliver, Perrish Cox, Chris Cook, Darryl Morris and rookies Dontae Johnson and Kenneth Acker are competing at cornerback. "Its next man up," 49ers offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman said. "Thats how it goes." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact want to turn the page on the first half of their season. Dwayne Allen Jersey . After 17 games — the midway point of Montreals third season in Major League Soccer — the Impact are dead last in the standings with a league-worst 3-9-5 record. The team will be looking to start anew when it takes on the Columbus Crew on the road on Saturday. "Its a brand-new season," said an optimistic Hassoun Camara. "We didnt do so well in the first part. We were expecting a lot better. We have to do everything to reverse the trend, and we have the players to do so. "Were technically sound, even more so than many teams in the league. What we need now is to meet those other teams intensity." Montreal is tied with the Chicago Fire for fewest wins on the season (3), and only the San Jose Earthquakes have scored fewer times than the Impact (17). The teams minus-12 goal differential is second worst in MLS behind only the Houston Dynamo. Despite their poor start to the season, the Impact are far from admitting defeat. "That wasnt an easy half of the year for us," said assistant coach Mauro Biello. "There are still a lot of games, and theres a lot of parity in this league. If we can string together a few good games, well be in a good position. We have to work hard, focus on the positive, and go from there." Though theyve picked up just 14 points from 17 games, Frank Klopas men are still only nine points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Playing in a league where streaking teams can quickly climb in the standings, the Impact are hoping a few positive results will finally get the ball rolling. "Were only halfway through the season," said striker Jack McInerney, whos scored six goals in 12 games for Montreal. "Weve played good soccer lately; we just havent gotten the results. There are still plenty of points on the table. Going forward, were going to have to do everything right." The Impact will start the second half of their season at Columbus Crew Stadium facing a side going through a lengthy rough patch of their own. After starting the season with three wins in a row, the Crew (4-7-8) have only won once in their last 16 MLS matches, and are winless in their last seven. Columbus, a club known this season for its successful passing and long spells of possession, is coming off a tough midweek loss against Kansas City. On Wednesday, a stoppage-time goal by Sportings Benny Feilhaber handed the Crew their second loss in a row. With Saturdays opponents on just two days rest, McInerney is calling the game against Columbus a perfect matchup for the Impact. "Theyre struggling also," he said. "Going in there, were really going to have to defend, play on the counter, and see what we can get on the break. Its a winnable game, so we have to go into it looking for the three points." Like the Crew, Montreal wants to move on from a heartbreaking loss against Kansas City. Last Saturday, a defensive mistake gifted all three points to Sporting when defender Heath Pearce and goalie Troy Perkins got their wires crossed and failed to clear a harmless ball away from the penalty box in the 89th minute. The week before, the Impact conceded a stoppage-time goal to Chivas USA for its first loss since returning from the World Cup break. The Impact had not dropped back-to-back contests since losing its first three to start the season. On Saturday, Montreal will look to take advantage of a depleted Columbus lineup that lost two of its players to injury in the last couple of weeks. Crew forward Jairo Arrieta left a July 12 game against the New York Red Bulls with a left hamstring strain, and has not played since. Hector Jimenez, an offensive-minded midfielder for Columbus, sprained his knee on July 4. Both have been ruled out for the game versus Montreal. Arrietas and Jimenezs absence will make things easier for an Impact backline that has been showing signs of improvement lately, despite consecutive losses. Montreal has conceded just three times in four games, and has recorded four clean sheets in its last seven in all competitions. "Were on the right track," said Biello, whose team is the only one in MLS without a road win this season (0-5-3). "Look at our last few games, the team is playing better. If we can do that on the road, along with the quality we have up front, we can get a result. A few draws and victories on the road will give us a good chance to make the playoffs." That will depend largely on the Impacts offence, which has been stale all season. Montreal has scored more than two goals just once this year — a 3-0 victory against Houston at the end of June. Goals have been especially hard to come by away from home, where the Impact have scored just five times in eight games. McInerney says Montreal has to start getting more players forward. "Weve put in a lot of work defending, because we had some struggles keeping the ball out of the net," said the 21-year-old. "But too many people are sitting back now. We have to get numbers in the box; its the only way were going to create opportunities for the team and create chances." The Impact and Crew will play each other twice more after Saturdays contest — on Aug. 30 in Montreal, and on Sept. 27 in Columbus. Notes: Marco Di Vaio, who has found the back of the net twice in his last three games, has three career tallies versus Columbus. The Italian striker celebrated his 38th birthday on Tuesday. … The Crews last MLS win came on May 24 versus the Chicago Fire. … On Tuesday, defender Adrian Lopez suffered a second ACL tear in his right knee. Lopez, who played just 44 minutes with the Impact since being acquired last July, will be out for the rest of the season. … After missing two games due to a groin injury, Justin Mapp now has two assists in his last three games. Julian Edelman Jersey . LOUIS -- Russell Martin wanted a better fate for his starting pitcher and helped deliver a happier ending.ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon has reworked his lineup in search of an offensive spark. Maddon had sluggers Wil Myers and Evan Longoria first and second Wednesday night in the lineup against Oakland. Part-time outfielder Brandon Guyer, who normally hits seventh or eighth, was the cleanup hitter. Over a 28-game stretch through Tuesday, Longoria hit .202. Myers started the day with two RBIs in his past 14 games. &quuot;I wanted to get them as many at-bats as possible to get them going," Maddon said of Myers and Longoria. Duron Harmon Jersey. "Right now its really difficult to try to set up a logical batting order based on as a group not hitting. If those two guys go, well be in pretty good shape." The world No. 1 and reigning Wimbledon champ Djokovic is followed by former top-ranked great and four-time Melbourne winner Roger Federer, former Aussie champ and French Open king Rafael Nadal, reigning titlist Stan Wawrinka and U.S. Open runner-up Kei Nishikori. Wawrinka stunned Nadal in last years Aussie final to capture his first-ever Grand Slam title. The lone seeded American is No. 19 John Isner. World No. 10 and U.S. Open champion Marin Cilic will skip Melbourne due to a right shoulder injury. The draw will be revealed on Friday.. D.J. The Hurricanes were suitably impressed, but they didnt stand a chance when the NHLs best were playing their best. Corey Perry had two goals and an assist in the first period, Andrew Cogliano scored a short-handed goal, and the Ducks jumped to an early 5-0 lead in their second straight victory out of the Olympic break. Frederik Andersen made 49 saves in his first action since Feb. 3 for the league-leading Ducks, who scored three times in an overwhelming first period filled with sharp passes, relentless skating and outstanding finishes. "We were as good as we can be," said Boudreau, who won his 100th game in Anaheim. Francois Beauchemin and Jakob Silfverberg also scored as the Ducks won their NHL-best 43rd game and stayed five points ahead of Chicago and St. Louis in the overall league standings. Anaheim coasted late in its third consecutive win overall, giving Boudreau plenty of fuel for practice even while he complimented his team on its start. The first 30 minutes were a beauty: Perry got his 31st and 32nd goals during his sixth multigoal game of the season, while Cogliano set a new career high with the 19th goal of his breakout season. "If we play like that all the time, well be tough to beat for anybody," Cogliano said. "I think we played really fast, moving the puck really well." Andersen was solid while earning his sixth win in his last seven starts, but the Danish goalie could be headed back to the AHL after the game. Viktor Fasth, who has been out since Nov. 18 with muscle inflammation, is due to return to Anaheim as Jonas Hillers backup. "If we play like that, were as good as anyone," Andersen said of the first period. "Weve just got to figure out a way to play like that for a whole game." Alexander Semin, Andrej Sekera and Patrick Dwyer scored in Carolinas fifth straight loss overall and its fourth in six days since the break. Cam Ward stopped 29 shots in just his second start of 2014, and the Hurricanes followed up Saturdays 3-1 loss at Los Angeles with another disappointing effort. Frostee Rucker Jersey. "You take the little positives that you can out of it," Hurricanes defenceman John-Michael Liles said. "We did put a lot of shots at their goalie, and he made some good saves. Ultimately, getting down early against a good team is tough, and it was a tough battle to get back. But were moving the puck well and were getting opportunities. Thats the biggest thing. We just got snake-bit." Indeed, Carolina put up 26 shots and scored twice in the third period, but went scoreless on six power plays to drop into an 0-for-21 slump. The Hurricanes conclude their five-game road trip out of the break Tuesday in San Jose. "Weve been pretty sound defensively," Carolina coach Kirk Muller said. "We just havent been scoring goals. Tonight we made a couple of mistakes early in the first, and they capitalized. They have some good players." Perry put the Ducks ahead 6:39 in, punching in a loose puck after the Canes defence came unglued during a shift by Anaheims dominant top line. Beauchemin scored later in the period on a slap shot that deflected off Jiri Tlustys stick, and Perry got his second goal 1:48 later with a nasty wrist shot. Cogliano scored during a horrible Carolina power play early in the second period, beating Ward between the goalies legs to set his new career high for goals with 20 games still to play. Shortly after Carolina got a bench minor for too many men on the ice during a power play, Silfverberg dug the puck off the netting and scored his first goal since Jan. 15. Carolina avoided the shutout late in the second period when Sekera scored in his second straight game. Dwyer added his first goal since Jan. 9 in the third period. NOTES: Semin returned from a one-game injury absence, but Carolina lost U.S. national team defenceman Justin Faulk to an upper-body injury early in the game. Muller had no update afterward. ... Anaheim F Tim Jackman was scratched a day after signing a contract extension for next season. C Mathieu Perreault also was scratched after getting hurt in the third period Friday against St. Louis. ... Montreal Canadiens defenceman Douglas Murray will have an 11am et phone hearing with the National Hockey League on Thursday after a controversial hit to Michael Kostka of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night. Kenny Stabler Jersey . The Lightning defenceman was skating with the puck into the Canadiens zone in the third period when Murray stepped up and caught Kostka with his elbow. Kostka lay motionless on the ice for a few moments, but was able to skate off under his own power even though a stretcher was taken onto the ice. Kostka was reportedly diagnosed with a concussion on Wednesday. Murray received a match penalty on the play. Meeks has agreed to a $19.5 million, three-year deal with Detroit, a person familiar with the situation said Tuesday night. The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because free agents cant sign contracts until the leagues moratorium ends July 10, also said Cartier Martin had agreed to a one-year contract with the rebuilding franchise. Jerry Rice Jersey . -- The Chicago Bears have agreed to a one-year contract with cornerback Kelvin Hayden. NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Predators have been playing better recently, yet have only a couple of hard-fought points to show for their work. The effort paid off once they got back home. Mattias Ekholms first NHL goal proved to be the game winner as the Predators beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Tuesday night for their first victory in four games. David Legwand had a goal and an assist, and Shea Weber added two assists for the Predators, who have earned points in five of six games. "It was good the guys got rewarded," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "We had a good game plan going in. We stayed with it and converted on a couple chances. Five-on-five I think we outscored them 3-1." Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau scored for San Jose, which has lost two of three. Nashville returned home from a trip in which the Predators lost all three games despite going to overtime twice. The Predators took control against the Sharks, scoring three goals in the second period. Nashville is undefeated in regulation this season when scoring at least three times. "Everything is so crucial right now," Nashville defenceman Kevin Klein said. "In our three prior games, we played really good games, but we lost two in overtime and one really close one. Its one of those things where all of the points help right now. Weve been playing a really good solid team game for the most part." The banged-up Sharks came into Nashville to wrap up their three-game trip, following a shootout win in Chicago on Sunday. The excitement of that win was tempered because forward Logan Couture is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday for what is believed to be a hand injury. Sharks coach Todd McLellan said he didnt think his club was good enough in its first game without Couture, and added that the leadership group has to step up, starting with the coaches and followed by the captain and assistants. "They have to be elite, and we werent at that level tonight," McLellan said. The Predators took a 1-0 lead when Legwand scored his seventh of the seasoon with a wrist shot from the right circle at 3:35. Willie Brown Jersey. Ekholm was called for his second delay of game penalty in two games when he put the puck over the glass. The Sharks took advantage to tie it when Pavelski tipped in a shot from Dan Boyle at 6:49. Ekholm made up for his penalty just 27 seconds later when he whirled and flipped the puck past goalie Antti Niemi to put Nashville back ahead 2-1. "Its really nice to see him get his first goal and respond the way he did," Trotz said. McLellan called Nashvilles next goal a blown call by officials. Roman Josi, named to Switzerlands Olympic team on Monday, scored with a wrist shot off an assist from Weber at 11:30. The puck found the net just after Predators forward Colin Wilson went down in the crease beside Niemi, blocking the goalie. But the goal stood for a 3-1 lead. "I understand mistakes because I make a lot of them behind the bench, but when you get an explanation from a group of people and it didnt happen, its disappointing," McLellan said. "There is also protocol to follow in our league which is that you get together and you discuss it, and that didnt happen, either." That goal wound up as the winner. San Jose outshot Nashville 11-5 in the third and got within 3-2 when Marleau tipped in a shot from in front past Marek Mazanec at 18:38. The Sharks then took their timeout with 44.5 seconds remaining but couldnt force overtime. "You have to live with it," Pavelski said. "At the end of the day, that cant bury us, but it did tonight." Bremen, Germany (SportsNetwork. Jonathan Ogden Jersey .com) - Franco Di Santo scored a goal in each half to lead Werder Bremen to a 2-0 home victory over Hertha Berlin, lifting the club out of the bottom three in the Bundesliga. Di Santo found the net for the first time at the end of the first half, and he doubled his total in the 69th to move Bremen three points clear of the relegation places, while Hertha stays just one point above the drop zone. Bremen took control of the match from the start, but had to wait until the 43rd minute to take the lead. Di Santo was making his first Bundesliga appearance for Bremen since Nov. 8 after sitting out with an injury, and he made an impact in his return by taking a pass from Theodor Gebre Selassie and scoring from a tight angle. Bremen goalkeeper Raphael Wolf was called into action early in the second half, but he had little to do the rest of the way and Di Santo doubled the lead with 20 minutes to play. Clemens Fritz was played to the end line and he pulled the ball back for Di Santo, who smashed home a volley to put the game away. Hertha goalkeeper Thomas Kraft made a nice stop in the closing stages of the contest on Davie Selke to keep his side within two goals. Augsburg remained firmly in the hunt for a top-four spot by turning back Hoffenheim, 3-1, thanks to first-half goals from Halil Altintop and Tobias Werner. Roberto Firmino pulled one back for Hoffenheim just before halftime, but Raul Bobadillas goal in the 90th minute for Augsburg put the result beyond reach. Danny Woodhead Jersey . The agreement comes a little more than one week after the video game manufacturer agreed to a $40 million settlement in a similar but separate case, bringing the total payout planned for athletes to $60 million, said Steve Berman, an attorney for the plaintiffs, and the NCAA. Brandon Carr Jersey . - On the night Dirk Nowitzki overtook Dominique Wilkins on the career scoring list, Brandan Wright was a human highlight film all by himself. NEW YORK -- Daniel Carcillo provided the burst of energy the New York Rangers were counting on in Game 7. The big goal was quite a bonus. Carcillo gave the Rangers the lead with the first of their two second-period goals, and Henrik Lundqvist did just enough to hold off the Philadelphia Flyers and send New York into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs with a 2-1 win on Wednesday night. Carcillo was added to the lineup, after he sat out the previous two games, and the move paid instant dividends. He turned a crisp pass into his second goal of the series at 3:06 of the middle frame. "When youre in, you try to do something to stay in, whether it be offensively or bring a lot of energy," Carcillo said. "Thats just what I was trying to do every time I was in this series." Benoit Pouliot stretched the Rangers lead to 2-0, and Lundqvist made it stand up with a 26-save effort one night after New York was beaten 5-2 in Philadelphia to set up the decisive Game 7. "No one was jittery. We all knew what to do," Carcillo said. "On this team, no one was shying away from the big stage." Lundqvist watched the third period of Game 6 from the bench, and started his preparation then for Wednesday. "Coming home last night, I was so disappointed," said Lundqvist, who improved to 4-1 in Game 7s. "But at the same time, I was mad because we couldnt come up with a better performance. To play a Game 7 at home and to win, that was the inspiration. "We played a really strong series. I think we were the better team. We pushed the pace almost every game. We definitely earned this one." The Rangers knocked out the Flyers about 24 hours after being pushed to the limit, improving to 6-0 in Game 7s at Madison Square Garden. New York will face another Metropolitan Division rival, the Pittsburgh Penguins, in the next round starting on Friday. Lundqvist allowed only a third-period goal to Jason Akeson at 4:32. He protected the one-goal lead at 7:25 when he made an awkward save against Flyers captain Claude Giroux. The Rangers mobbed Lundqvist after the final buzzer, while the Flyers consoled their goalie, Steve Mason. Mason, who didnt start until Game 4 because of a concussion he admitted to after the game Wednesday, was sharp in stopping 31 shots. He just couldnt will his club to a complete comeback after the Flyers fell into a 3-2 series hole. "Game 7, lose 2-1, it doesnt get any closer than that," Giroux said. "We did a good job staying in the battle. We have a lot of character in this room, and for a young team I think its great. This is only going to make us stronger." No team won consecutive games in the series. The Rangers, who finished two points ahead of Philadelphia dduring the regular season, made the most of their home-ice advantage by taking three of four in the Garden. Custom Baltimore Ravens Jerseys. . Carcillo scored the all-important first goal off a picture-perfect pass from Mats Zuccarello. Zuccarello threaded the puck with a behind-the-back feed from near the right circle between the legs of Flyers defencemen Andrew MacDonald and Braydon Coburn to Carcillo for the redirection. "Usually those are the toughest ones to pick up. I missed one in Game 4 backdoor," Carcillo said. "To track it through two sets of legs and then to get decent wood on it and see it go in, is a good feeling." Carcillo played for just the third time and the first at home. He had come out of the penalty box less than a minute earlier after serving a penalty for too many men on the ice. The Rangers nearly doubled the lead later in the frame when they mounted a flurry of pressure, only to be stymied by Mason and done in by errant whacks at the puck. But Philadelphia couldnt capitalize on that or on two power plays in the period in which the Flyers were outshot 18-5. "We didnt initiate enough and play with enough aggressiveness as a team," Flyers coach Craig Berube said. "Our game overall, we didnt play our best hockey." New York took a 2-0 lead with 8:14 left in the second when Pouliot also turned a sharp pass into his second of the series. Derick Brassard sent the puck from the right-wing boards into the slot. Pouliot streaked down the middle, snared the puck, and steered it past Mason to send the once-nervous crowd into a towel-waving frenzy. "We had a lot of legs in the second period," forward Brad Richards said. "We rode the fans momentum, killed two big penalties. Every line went out there and was just moving their feet and creating problems for them." The Flyers held an 11-10 shots advantage in the first scoreless opening period of the series. New York again failed to capitalize on the lone power play in the frame, stretching its streak of futility to 21 straight advantages. When the Rangers did pressure Philadelphia, Mason stood tall as he did in winning Game 6. Lundqvist matched Mason at the other end as the Flyers had several stretches of puck possession within the Rangers zone. "He was awesome," Carcillo said. "He is an elite goalie for a reason." NOTES: Carcillo replaced J.T. Miller, who had played in the previous two games. Carcillo is 3-0 in career Game 7s and has scored in two of them. Carcillo had four goals in the regular season in 57 total games with Los Angeles and the Rangers. ... The Flyers dropped to 9-7 in Game 7 after winning their previous three. ...
